After the name of a well-known personality in the legal field of Assam and the first Principal of the first Law College of Assam, Jnanadabhiram Borooah Law College was named. It is popularly known as J.B. Law College (JBLC). Established in 1969 in Guwahati, Assam, JB Law College has been imparting legal education. It currently offers LLB, LLB Hons., BA LLB Hons., and LL.M.
Admission to the respective courses is based on the eligibility of students to get selected on merit cum admission test and interview, which is conducted in college premises as per schedule. Students from the entire North-Eastern region come to JBLC to study law.

JB Law College is one of the best law colleges in the North East. It has completed its 50 years in the industry and is doing great. The college has some of the best-known personalities in the legal field as teachers. It has a good infrastructure and pedagogy.
The college does not have a hostel of its own. However, there are many private hostels available around the campus that provide rooms with good facilities.
Yes, there is a proper uniform for the students on JBLC. The dress material for the uniform including the blazer is provided by the college at the time of admission. The students need to pay the respective amounts for the uniform at the time of admission.
JBLC provides a lot of additional campus facilities. It has an auditorium, a canteen, a library, a gym, a computer lab, a moot court to help students gain practical knowledge, etc.
JB Law College has a list of rules on its official website. There are strict norms related to identity cards without which the students are not allowed in the college premises, 70% attendance is compulsory, strict check on college uniform, etc.
