Vidyasagar College (VSC) was established in 1872 by Pandit Ishwar Chandra Vidyasagar by the name of Metropolitan College. It offers UG and PG courses in both Arts and Science Stream. It has been accredited ‘B++’ grade by the NAAC team. VSC is affiliated to Calcutta University and follows the curriculum of the University only. It is one of the oldest institutions in the country and was the first private college in India run by the Indians.
VSC offers B.A, B.Sc. (General & Hons.) programs in various specializations. The admission to the courses are merit-based. Candidates can apply online to get admission in VSC.
The Library of VSC has subscribed itself to INFLIBNET providing its students a large number of e-Journals and e-books. To enhance internal assessment, online MCQs have also been introduced. VSC follows a feedback mechanism to confirm high standards of education.
